"Those who wish to sing always find a song."
- Swedish proverb
The challenges and disappointing hobbles of the past two years made music-making difficult. From the inconvenience of masking, to the abject fear of being in close proximity, choral music suffered in so many ways. Yet Bel Canto persevered, and we were able to share our love of singing great music with a public increasingly starved for the love of listening. From a nine-language, multi-century romp through works about spring, to an enthusiastic grapple with Giacomo Puccini's operatic Messa di Gloria, and ending with a resplendent joint performance of Faure's Requiem Opus 48 alongside our compatriot Sussex Choral Society, we are now looking forward to the 2023-24 season with renewed enthusiasm!
